Beach Park, IL (April 10, 2026) – Three women were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning, April 9, on Sheridan Road in Beach Park. The accident occurred near Yorkhouse Road and involved three vehicles, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency units responded around 7:35 a.m. after reports of a crash with injuries. Crews arrived and found three vehicles with damage along Sheridan Road, just south of the intersection near Hendee Road.
Investigators said a 27-year-old woman driving a Ford Mustang traveled northbound when she hit standing water in the roadway. She lost control of the vehicle, which crossed into the southbound lanes.
The Mustang struck a Subaru Crosstrek driven by a 56-year-old woman from Kenosha, Wisconsin. The impact also involved a Hyundai Sonata, driven by another 56-year-old Kenosha woman.
Paramedics transported all three drivers to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials said the women suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not issued citations or charges at this time. Investigators continue reviewing the crash and the conditions that may have contributed to it.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a full recovery.
How Insurance Claims Work After a Multi-Vehicle Crash in Lake County
Insurance claims after a multi-vehicle crash in Lake County often begin by determining which driver or drivers may have contributed to the accident. Illinois follows a fault-based system, which means the party found responsible may be required to cover damages. This process can become more complex when several vehicles are involved.
After a collision, insurance companies review evidence such as police reports, photos, and statements from drivers and witnesses. These details help clarify how the crash happened and who may share responsibility. In multi-vehicle accidents, insurers may compare accounts from different parties before making decisions.
Injury claims can include medical bills, follow-up care, and other related costs. Some people may feel pain or stiffness hours after the crash, which makes medical evaluation important. Keeping detailed records of treatment, prescriptions, and expenses can help support a claim and show how the accident affected recovery.
A car accident lawyer can help review the situation and explain how Illinois laws apply to a multi-vehicle crash. This may include organizing documentation, answering questions about shared fault, and outlining what types of compensation may be available.
